I was born in 1975. In 1993, graduated from the 41st Vilnius Secondary School with a silver medal and the same year was admitted to Vilnius University where I acquired bachelor’s degree in international economics and master’s degree in personnel management.
In 1995, I started building work experience in the private sector: I worked as a director of commerce for a food manufacturer, department and account manager for currently DNB Lizingas, was a business development and marketing manager, head of logistics, real estate management and timber processing companies and of their holding companies, served as a board member in these companies. I was also responsible for and successfully completed acquisitions of several companies, and had the chance to work as a business consultant on matters of operations’ development and financing.
I am one of the longest serving employees at UAB Investicijų ir verslo garantijos (INVEGA) having joined the team in 2002. I served for a number of years on the board of INVEGA. As of June of 2013 I am part of the board of directors of the European Association of Guarantee Institutions (AECM) and head of the Working Group on Structural Funds. I have been on many occasions delegated as a Lithuanian expert to various European Commission working groups in charge of putting together reports on best practices for micro credits, guarantees, early stage financing and reduction of obstacles to cross-border investing. I conduct extensive international seminars to employees of European managing authorities on how to develop financial instruments and implement them. In April 2015 I was appointed by the European Commission to sit on the fi-compass expert group.
I am married. My wife Živilė and I raise two sons named Augustas and Mindaugas.
