Compensation for the guarantee payment to those who take a loan for investments

Who can apply?

Part of the guarantee payment is compensated for entities operating in rural areas and receiving loans from financial institutions with INVEGA‘s guarantee for investment projects for:

  • Primary agricultural production (primary agricultural production is production of primary products and breeding or cultivating including harvesting, milking and rearing farm animals until slaughter; it also includes hunting, fishing and cultivation of wild products),
  • processing of agricultural products where such processing results in another agricultural product or a non-agricultural product and/or for marketing of agricultural products;
  • Other activities falling within Group 01.6 ‘Support activities to agriculture and post-harvest crop activities’ in the Classification of Economic Activities (EVRK Rev. 2) approved by Order of the Director of Statistics Lithuania under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania No DĮ-226 of 31 October 2007.

The said economic operators must have registered, according to a procedure prescribed by the law, their agricultural holdings in the Register of Agricultural and Rural Businesses of the Republic of Lithuania.

How much?

The following is compensated:

  • 75% of the guarantee payment – for entities operating in rural areas and receiving loans from financial institutions with an individual guarantee for investment projects for primary agricultural production or processing of agricultural products where such processing results in another agricultural product or a non-agricultural product and/or for marketing of agricultural products;
  • 30% of the guarantee payment – for entities operating in rural areas and receiving loans from financial institutions with an individual guarantee for investment projects for activities other than primary agricultural production or processing and/or marketing of agricultural products, provided that such activity falls within Group 01.6 ‘Support activities to agriculture and post-harvest crop activities’ in the Classification of Economic Activities (EVRK Rev. 2) approved by Order of the Director of Statistics Lithuania under the Government of the Republic of Lithuania No DĮ-226 of 31 October 2007.

The economic operators pay only for a non-compensated part of the guarantee.

The total amount of de minimis aid (small amounts of state aid) for an entity operating in a rural area may not exceed, over any period of three fiscal years:

  • EUR 20,000 - for investments in primary agricultural production;
  • EUR 100,000 – for carriage of goods by road for hire or reward;
  • EUR 200,000 – for investments in other activities.
